Okeechobee County Airport, located 3 miles northwest of Okeechobee, Florida, is a renowned general aviation airport with a rich history dating back to 1940. Originally known as Conners Field, it was leased by the United States Army Air Corps during World War II for auxiliary training, particularly for B-17 Flying Fortress pilots. After the war, the airport returned to civil use and has since been a hub for general aviation.
