Philippine Airlines (PAL) is set to enhance the travel experience of its customers flying between Manila and New York John F Kennedy Airport (JFK) with a major move to the new Terminal One by 2026. The airline is currently the sole direct carrier between the Philippines and the US East Coast, operating thrice-weekly flights with their Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
PAL President and Chief Operating Officer, Capt. Stanley K. Ng, expressed excitement about this strategic shift, stating, “This partnership with the JFK New Terminal One highlights an important innovation for Philippine Airlines.” Ng emphasized the goal of elevating service standards and improving the overall travel journey for passengers connecting Manila to New York, as well as neighboring cities in New Jersey, Connecticut, and across the U.S. East Coast and Midwest.
The Chief Executive Officer of the New Terminal One at JFK, Jennifer Aument, expressed equal enthusiasm, welcoming Philippine Airlines to their airline family. “Our teams share a strong commitment to customer experience,” Aument pointed out. “We eagerly anticipate collaborating to enhance the curb-to-gate journey for Philippine Airlines customers traveling to and from New York.”
The New Terminal One is scheduled to open in phases starting in 2026, eventually becoming the largest terminal at JFK Airport. With 2.6 million square feet of space encompassing the current Terminal 1, as well as the former Terminals 2 and 3, it is poised to elevate the airport experience for passengers. Notably, Philippine Airlines will be the first Southeast Asian carrier to transition its operations to the state-of-the-art New Terminal One, marking a significant milestone for both the airline and the terminal's development.
