Etihad Airways has recently announced the launch of an exciting new route connecting Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, with Nairobi, Kenya. This marks the 10th new destination as part of the airline's expanding network in 2024. The service, which began on December 15, aims to establish a crucial link between the vibrant city of Nairobi and the capital of the UAE. This essential connection utilizes Abu Dhabi's Zayed International Airport and Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways, expressed his enthusiasm for the new route, stating, "The introduction of our Nairobi service enhances our growing network while responding to strong travel demand between the UAE and Kenya." De highlighted the significant tourism growth experienced in both Abu Dhabi and Kenya, underlining the opportunities this new route presents for both regions.

This launch comes at a pivotal moment for Kenya's tourism sector, with an increasing number of visitors expected to reach three million in 2024 and ambitions to attract five million visitors in the near future. Etihad Airways recognizes Kenya's tourism industry's upward trajectory and is proud to contribute to its continued growth.

The addition of Nairobi to Etihad's network follows the introduction of several other new services in 2024, including destinations such as Antalya, Bali, and Boston. Looking ahead to 2025, Etihad plans to introduce flights to 13 additional destinations, expanding its reach to cities like Warsaw, Prague, Taipei, and Hanoi. These developments reflect the airline's commitment to offering diverse travel options and connecting passengers to an array of exciting destinations.
