As Delta Air Lines marks its impressive milestone of 100 years in the aviation industry, the airline has revealed a special Centennial-themed edition of collectible trading cards. Founded on April 15, 1926, Delta holds the prestigious title of being the oldest active American commercial airline.

In a unique move to engage and delight aviation enthusiasts, Delta initiated the release of trading cards back in 2003, allowing passengers to obtain them by simply asking a Delta Air Lines pilot. The inaugural set featured a limited-edition MD-11 card, commemorating the retirement of the aircraft in 2004. The simple yet coveted collection has since grown in popularity, boasting seven series and a total of 68 distinctive cards.

The recently unveiled Centennial edition comprises over five million cards, all set to be shared by Delta pilots. Adorned with the airline's special Centennial colors, these cards showcase a range of Delta's iconic aircraft, including the A220-300, 717, 737-800, A321NEO, 757-200, 767-300, A330-900, and the A350. In a thoughtful gesture, Delta has announced that customers flying via Delta Connection can anticipate receiving CRJ-900 and E175 cards, depending on the carrier.

Ryan Gumm, Senior Vice President of Flight Operations for Delta, shared his sentiments on the impact of these trading cards, stating, "Delta pilots have handed out millions of trading cards over the past 22 years, with over 3 million distributed in 2024 alone."
