A Condor-operated Airbus A320 will soon be sporting pink and white stripes in a remarkable bid to raise awareness for breast cancer prevention. Set to take flight on October 1, 2024, the striking new livery on the Condor FlyPink Airbus A320 departing from Frankfurt Airport (FRA) bound for Lanzarote aims to draw attention to the crucial issue of breast cancer awareness.
In addition to the eye-catching exterior, the interior of the Airbus A320 will also be adorned with pink headrest covers and specially designed safety cards carrying essential information on prevention methods. This initiative is part of the global aviation movement FlyPink, with Condor aiming to not only raise awareness for breast cancer prevention but also to show solidarity with those impacted by the disease and raise funds for Brustkrebs Deutschland e.V. to support their vital research efforts.
Led by Captain Katharina Heimann, the crew of the inaugural FlyPink flight to the Canary Islands marks a significant milestone in Condor's dedication to this cause. Christian Schmitt, COO of Condor, expressed his pride in the FlyPink Plane initiative, highlighting the long-standing support from their employees and the symbolic significance of this new aircraft showcasing their commitment.
FlyPink, originally founded by QantasLink pilots in 2015, has garnered support from aviation organizations and airlines worldwide. Renate Haidinger, Founder and Chairwoman of Brustkrebs Deutschland e.V., expressed her delight in being a part of this initiative, recognizing the powerful impact of Condor's pink and white striped aircraft in raising awareness for early detection and demonstrating solidarity with those affected by breast cancer.
